HS D-Group Leaders

Every Sunday, as part of our youth group at The Edge, we break up into small discipleship groups we call "D-groups." These groups are where we get to dive deep into faith discussions & teachings. Get to know our awesome D-group leaders below.

12th Grade Girls

My name is Reilly Cribbins and I am a D-Group leader alongside Rachelle Kasten. My husband Louis and I have three children, Amelia (9 years old), London (7 years old) and Lincoln (4 years old). My family and I moved to Dexter 7 years ago and we have been attending Dexter United Methodist Church ever since. Throughout these past seven years it has been a joy to experience many areas of ministry including Children’s and Family Ministry, The Dive In Generosity Initiative, and being a leader in Explorer’s Bible Study. It is a tremendous blessing and honor to work the youth. I am so thankful God has put on my heart to encourage these young ladies to grow in their relationship with Christ and to bring glory to God in all that they do.

12th Grade Girls

I am a mom of three boys, and one new daughter in law, and my husband and I have become empty nesters this Fall. I am a teacher by trade, but currently only substitute teach at Ann Arbor Christian School. During the week, I keep busy leading a women's Bible Study, mentoring a few young women, as well as taking care of my home. We have lived in Dexter for a little over 13 years, but are only entering our fourth year at DUMC. We love being part of a community church that is doing so many awesome things in the area, and are excited to watch the changes and see how God is using this church to impact the world! I feel especially blessed to have the privilege of watching the girls grow in their faith, and I look forward to getting to know them better!

12th Grade Guys

I’ve been hanging out with the 2020 Guys for years now. This has been one of the best summers ever.  We have been reading through the Book of John as a team with Mike Tomczak, Matt Hook, Noah Mellifont, and a host of other graduate assistants. We have been to Flint and Detroit and Memphis. Now it’s time to travel the globe. This group is going places! On the personal side, I spend my days with ALDI buying, building and remodeling our stores. When I am at home my most enjoyable hobby is to attend my kids sporting and drama events. (An occasional hoops game at the Newkirk Center is great too.)

12th Grade Guys

It is an honor and joy to work with our youth at The Edge! I have been attending DUMC for about eight years and have been a D-Group leader four of those years. Working with the Senior Guys last year was so amazing that when the opportunity to work with the 2020 Senior Guys presented itself I knew I would dive in for one more year. My wife Kristin is also a D-Group Leader and my daughter Brianna, a senior this year, is part of the Edge Worship Team. Our Youth are the Future!

11th Grade Girls

I have been attending DUMC for the past 3 years. I have been the D-Group leader for the middle school girls class of 2021 for the past 2 years. I believe God gifted me with the skills to lead, to teach and train, to love, to empower, and to laugh with these young ladies! I take the responsibility of influencing these teens to follow Jesus Christ very seriously. I am humbled that God would choose me. When I am not hanging at the Edge, I spend time with my amazing husband Adam of 23 years  and my two fabulous daughters Madelyn (16) and Olivia (13). I am nurse leader at the University of Michigan Health System where I have worked for the past 24 years. I am currently finishing my last semester of graduate classes at the University of Michigan where I will receive a degree in Nursing Business and Health Administration. GO BLUE!  In my spare time, which is pretty limited, I am a girl scout leader and love to garden!

11th Grade Guys

I just turned the slippery side of 50 and Rachelle and I just became empty nesters, so we’ve joined the edge team to continue to contribute to the youth at DUMC. I grew up in a great Christian home in and I’ve known the Lord since I was a young boy. We’ve attended DUMC for almost three years now and before that attended NorthRidge Church where I was a 4th and 5th grade small group leader. When I’m not at DUMC, I’m a pediatric/craniofacial plastic surgeon at Mott Hospital. I am excited and amazed at the cool things God is doing at DUMC (especially The Edge!) and honored to be a part of it!

10th Grade Girls

My husband and I have been attending DUMC since 1997. I am so thankful for The Edge and our church family. I am happily serving as a D-Group Leader for the 7th Grade Girls. 2023 Senior Belize Trip will be here before we know it! My co-leader and friend is Kristin Tomczak. During the week I am an office administrator at local heating & cooling company. I truly love being with the 7th grade girls as their spirit and enthusiasm when worshipping Christ is contagious. I cannot wait to see where God leads them. My favorite pastime is being with my two children; Peter (18), a freshman at Washtenaw Community College, who is also involved with worship at The Edge, and Cora (15), a sophomore at DHS.  Both children are active in the Fine Arts Programs at The Edge. I also enjoy beading and cooking.

10th Grade Girls

My family and I have been attending Dexter United Methodist Church since 2014. We are so blessed to be a part of this amazing youth ministry!! I love getting to know these
fantastic young ladies, building lasting relationships with them, and getting to know Jesus
Christ better with them! My husband, Michael, is a D-group leader of the 12th grade guys,
and my daughter, Brianna, is a senior who is actively involved in Drama, youth group, Worship Band and Fine Arts groups! My favorite things are spending time with my family, singing with the church Worship Band, riding my bicycle, reading and getting to hang out with these awesome kids!!

10th Grade Guys

Our family has been attending DUMC for the past 4 years since we moved here from Birmingham, MI in 2016. I have been a small group leader for over 25 years, and got my start in youth ministry with Matt & Leigh back in 1995. My wife Heather, daughters Amanda, Janelle & I love it here in Dexter and have been hugely blessed by the Edge community. My career is in software sales, and my hobbies include family games, music, & pickleball.  I love working with this amazing group of young men, I am very glad that God is not finished with me yet either!

9th Grade Girls

My family and I have been coming to Dexter United Methodist since 2008. DUMC has been such an amazing blessing in my life, and I am so happy to be growing in my relationship with Jesus here! This is my second year as a D-Group Leader and I am excited to dive right into another year with the Middle School Kids! I am a full-time mom to two fantastic kids: Kyler and Luke. My daughter Kyler is in 10th grade and my son Luke is in 8th grade and they love coming to The Edge on Sunday nights. When I’m not on mom duty, I am a fitness coach at Just CrossFit in Ann Arbor and the Dexter Wellness Center. I love to read, run and hang out with my family in my free time.

9th Grade Girls

I grew up in Dexter, and Dexter United Methodist Church has been an important part of my life since I was a child. I've enjoyed being part of the DUMC family and I'm so excited to continue this year as a D-Group leader! This is my third year as a D-Group leader, and my first year as a HS D-Group leader. I graduated from the University of Michigan in 2017 (Go Blue!) and I got married that summer. You'll see my husband, Charlie, helping with HS D-Groups as well. During the week I work as a business analyst at the University of Michigan Medical School. In my free time, I enjoy watching movies, reading, and spending time with my friends and family.

9th Grade Guys

My wife, Danelle, and our two daughters, Erin (10th) and Megan (6th), have been attending Dexter United Methodist since late summer 2015.  Erin started attending the Edge in 7th grade, and while going through the “What On Earth Am I Here For (The Purpose Driven Life),” I felt a distinct nudge from the Holy Spirit to get involved with the middle schoolers. I began helping with the then 6th-grade boys at the tail end of the school year and loved it.  I’m not sure who likes playing the games more—the kids or me.  I am excited to be a part of this year's 8th-grade boy’s faith journeys as they explore what it means to follow Christ. As hobbies and interests go, I’m really a complete nerd.  I’d rather watch a sci-fi movie than sports. I’m new to the Edge ministry, but I feel that this is where God wants to use me for now.  Pray that the 8th-grade boys and I will be able to have fun and be challenged as we get to know Jesus better—together.

9th Grade Guys

I grew up in Dexter and started attending the Edge my junior year of
High School! I was able to go to the first DUMC youth mission trip to
Haiti in my senior year and was very grateful for the experience. This
is my 3rd year helping out with the youth ministries and I am super
excited for the opportunity to help with the 9th grade boys D-group.
I graduated from Hope College with a mechanical engineering degree and
I work at Roush Industries in the Powertrain group. I enjoy hiking,
biking, sports, hands on projects, anything to do with cars, and
spending time with my wife. I am looking forward to the upcoming year
and can't wait to get to know everyone!

Get to know our other awesome leaders & staff!
